Jolanda Giardiello was born in Switzerland, but has southern Italian roots. Growing up in a bilingual environment and in two different cultures, put her in the longlife quest of searching her identity and her sense of a belonging. Art soon became a way to find her place.

After studying at the Liceo Artistico in Zurich,  she made a Master of Arts in Musicology, Ethnomusicology, Portuguese Linguistics and Literature at the University of Zurich.

Photography gives her the chance to work on her quests in an introspective and somehow poetic way. Her photographs are mostly  composed in the moment they are captured and do not undergo any post production alterations. In her works she integrates also her music, her poetry, her drawings, her handcrafts and art performances. Actually she exhibits her works principally in Switzerland and France.

She is also a multi-instrumentalist, writes compositions and arrangements in different styles (music website).

She speaks fluently Italian, German, Swiss German, English, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and a little bit of Russian.
